Who's your favorite of 2008 so far??? 16 Jun 2008, 03:53 So I figured that in about two weeks, we'll be half way through 2008. Not that dates and numbers matter, but it's just as good as any time to pause and take a look at what this year has put into our ears. For me it would be pretty simple assemble the Top 20 2008 Releases So Far: jump to my iTunes, scroll through my "Smart Playlist" of albums where Year is 2008 [and Podcast is false ;) ], then pick the top 20 that really stood out. But before I do that, I wanted to hear YOUR best picks. I'm positive that I have missed something. So it's your chance to let me know, and my chance to hear it before the June ends. And maybe you'll influence my list [and most importantly, my soul]... 67 comments: Woodawgy said: 16 Jun 2008, 09:14 How about "discoveries of 2008"? I'm no good at puting together "best of " lists because frankly alot of the stuff I purchase was released before the current year. When I make a best of list I usually just list albums that I discovered in that particular timeframe no matter what year they were released. With that being said here is my discoveries of 2008 list in no particular order: *Porn Sword Tobacco - New Exclusive Olympic Heights *David Helpling & Jon Jenkins - Treasure *JFC - Chrome De Lux (I was 8 years late to at discovering this one!) *Port-Royal (Everything they have released) *Secede (Everything he has released) *M83 - Saturdays = Youth *Crisopa (Everything he has released) So there you have it. According to my hard drive those are things I've downloaded in 2008 and enjoyed immensely. Sorry my list doesn't fit your rules. Its the best I can do. ;) How about "discoveries of 2008"? hattn said: 16 Jun 2008, 20:09 not sure if you heard it or not, but this is the best albums of 2008 alva noto - unitxt quiet village - silent movie yasushi yoshida - little grace peter broderick - float sawako - bitter sweet minilouge - animals jacaszek - treny GAS - nah und fern and venetian snares - detrimentalist ( i think :s ) not sure if you heard it or not, but this is the best albums of 2008 liftmuziek said: 16 Jun 2008, 23:19 To: hattn Argh - missed the Alva Noto, and the GAS sold out almost right away.
